With the state of our world right now, is your brain scattered in eleventy billion different directions?
Right now, we’re all dealing with a variety of situations that pull at our time. And, when you do finally have some space to yourself, it can be easy to get caught in the loop of: “what should I be doing? I only have an hour! Argh!”
Before long, you’re mindlessly consuming more news, scrolling social media, or getting sucked into TikTok videos reuniting Hannah Brown and Tyler Cameron from The Bachelor (ummm… or is that just me???)
If you’ve been in my world for a bit, you know that one of my favorite productivity techniques is batching.
Batching has allowed me to run a successful online business for more than a decade, and build an entirely new, dual career as a screenwriter—and still have time for family, friends & self care.
And right now?
Batching is keeping me grounded, focused and calm during these chaotic times.
What is batching?
Batching means working on a project in one long uninterrupted burst—like baking a batch of two dozen cookies all in one go instead of individually baking twenty-four cookies, separately, on twenty-four different days.
Batching = more work in less time (with less stress). Which is exactly what we all need right now, am I right?
If you’re ready to give batching a serious shot, here are two no-cost resources I have for you:
